08.11.2024 завідувачкою кафедри соціально-гуманітарних дисциплін Хоменко О.О. було організовано історичний воркшоп з давньої писемності для студентів ПВНЗ «Європейський університет», який проходив у Києво-Печерській Лаврі напередодні Дня української писемності та мови, вшановуючи пам’ять Преподобного Нестора-Літописця, послідовника Кирила і Мефодія – творців слов'янської писемності, який відзначають 09.11.2024.

Саме Нестор у "Повісті минулих літ" зберіг для нас цінну інформацію про історію та культуру Київської Русі, ставши одним із перших літописців України.

Цього дня студенти Юридичного та Економічного факультетів  відвідали майстер-клас із давньої писемності у Лаврі, де вони змогли побачити історичні зразки текстів та дізнатися про процес написання рукописів. Захід став справжнім зануренням у світ стародавньої кирилиці, де майстри показували, як користуватися пером, чорнилом та старовинними техніками. Такий досвід поглибив знання студентів про витоки української писемності й культуру, надихнув студентів на вивчення спадщини свого народу. Враження незабутні, історична атмосфера додала таємничого колориту й перенесла усіх відвідувачів майстер-класу у Х століття.

Прекрасним завершенням воркшопу з давньої писемності були індивідуальні грамоти написані власноручно кирилицею кожним учасником.

Найкращим показником проведеного заходу є відгуки студентів. Продовжуємо вивчати та досліджувати свою історію, мову та культуру!

On November 8, 2024, Olena Khomenko, Head of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines, organized a historical workshop on ancient script for students of the European University. The event took place at the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra on the eve of the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language, honoring the memory of Saint Nestor the Chronicler, a disciple of Cyril and Methodius—the creators of Slavic script—celebrated on November 9, 2024.

Through his Tale of Bygone Years, Nestor preserved invaluable information about the history and culture of Kyivan Rus, becoming one of Ukraine’s first chroniclers.

On this day, Law and Economics Faculties students attended a master class on ancient script at the Lavra. They observed historical text samples and learned about the manuscript writing process. The event was an immersive experience into early Cyrillic script, where experts demonstrated quills, ink, and traditional techniques. This hands-on experience deepened the students' understanding of the origins of Ukrainian writing and culture, inspiring them to explore the heritage of their people. The impressions left by the workshop were unforgettable, as the historical atmosphere added a mysterious charm, transporting all participants back to the 10th century.

A beautiful conclusion to the workshop was the creation of personalized certificates handwritten in Cyrillic by each participant.

The enthusiastic feedback from the students was the best indicator of the event's success. Let us continue to explore and study our history, language, and culture!
