8 жовтня 2025 року у ПВНЗ «Європейський університет» відбулося чергове засідання студентського гуртка «Українсько-славістичні студії: історико-філологічний аспект». Організатором і керівником гуртка є завідувачка кафедри соціально-гуманітарних дисциплін, проректор з виховної роботи, канд. істор. наук, доц. Олена Хоменко.

Тема сьогоднішньої зустрічі — «Символи єдності — ДНК незалежності» — об’єднала студентів різних факультетів, які прагнуть глибше зрозуміти витоки української державності, духовності та культурної самобутності.

Про що обговорювали?
- про вишиванку як оберіг і код нації;
- про державний гімн як голос свободи;
- про феномен волонтерства як сучасну форму громадянської стійкості;

- а також про революції — як етапи становлення нової політичної нації.

Обговорення було жвавим і змістовним. Студенти дискутували про значення культурних символів у формуванні колективної пам’яті, міркували над тим, як вони допомагають українцям зберігати єдність навіть у найскладніші історичні періоди і чи допомагає це?. Особливу увагу приділили тому, як традиційні елементи — вишивка, пісня, громадянська активність — перетворюються на живі маркери сучасної ідентичності, що об’єднують покоління та регіони. Усі студенти поділилися, що мають свою вишиванку, бо для них це частина власної історії й водночас модний символ.

Захід став не лише навчальним, а й виховним. Студенти розмірковували над тим, що означає бути українцем у глобалізованому світі, як мова, культура і пам’ять формують духовну міць нації.

Такі зустрічі допомагають молоді усвідомлювати власне місце у історії свого народу. Гурток «Українсько-славістичні студії: історико-філологічний аспект» став справжнім майданчиком інтелектуального спілкування, де кожен може не лише поглибити знання, а й відчути гордість за належність до української культури.

Meeting of the Club “Ukrainian-Slavic Studies: Historical and Philological Aspect” as a Space for Understanding Our Identity

On October 8, 2025, a regular meeting of the student club “Ukrainian-Slavic Studies: Historical and Philological Aspect” took place at the European University. The club is organized and led by Olena Khomenko, PhD in History, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines, and Vice-Rector for Educational Work.

The topic of the meeting — “Symbols of Unity: The DNA of Independence” — brought together students from various faculties who seek to understand better the roots of Ukrainian statehood, spirituality, and cultural identity.

During the discussion, participants explored:
The embroidered shirt (vyshyvanka) is a national talisman and cultural code;
the national anthem as the voice of freedom;
The phenomenon of volunteerism as a form of modern civic resilience;
And the role of revolutions as stages in shaping a new political nation.

The discussion was lively and thought-provoking. Students reflected on how cultural symbols shape collective memory and help Ukrainians preserve unity even during the most challenging historical periods. Special attention was given to how traditional elements — such as embroidery, song, and civic activity — have evolved into living markers of modern identity, uniting generations and regions. Many students shared that owning a vyshyvanka is for them both a part of personal history and a fashionable symbol of national pride.

The event became not only educational but also deeply formative. Students discussed what it means to be Ukrainian in a globalized world, exploring how language, culture, and memory contribute to the spiritual strength of a nation.

Such meetings help young people understand their place in the history of their people. The “Ukrainian-Slavic Studies: Historical and Philological Aspect” club has become a genuine intellectual platform where every participant can expand their knowledge and feel pride in belonging to Ukrainian culture.
