У межах освітнього проєкту Школи права Європейського університету відбулася перша онлайн-зустріч Ukraine–Scotland Legal Conversation Café, яка об’єднала студентів-правників з України та Шотландії.

До розмови зі студентами Університету Глазго
долучилися студенти Європейського університету. Формат зустрічі був максимально відкритим і дружнім — без академічного тиску, але з живим інтересом одне до одного.

Першу зустріч учасники присвятили темі доступу до юридичної професії в Україні, Шотландії та юрисдикціях загального права. Студенти підготували короткі презентації про шлях до професії юриста у своїх країнах, після чого розмова природно перейшла у вільне спілкування. Обговорювали навчальні програми, іспити, вартість освіти, студентське життя та відмінності між правничими школами.

Особливий інтерес викликали розповіді українських студентів про навчання в умовах війни. Зокрема, студентка Європейського університету Дар’я Науменко поділилася досвідом онлайн-навчання, його перевагами та викликами. Своїм поглядом також поділилася студентка Університету Глазго, яка раніше здобувала юридичну освіту в Україні, порівнявши освітні реалії в обох країнах.

Зустріч пройшла в теплій і підтримувальній атмосфері та завершилася домовленістю продовжувати спілкування й обрати нові цікаві теми для наступних обговорень.

Ukraine–Scotland Legal Conversation Café: Online Meeting of Law Students from European University and the University of Glasgow
As part of the educational initiative of the Law School of European University, the first online meeting of the Ukraine–Scotland Legal Conversation Café took place, bringing together law students from Ukraine and Scotland.

Students of European University joined the discussion with their peers from the University of Glasgow. The meeting format was open, friendly, and supportive — free from academic pressure, yet full of genuine interest and engagement.

The first session focused on pathways to the legal profession in Ukraine, Scotland, and common law jurisdictions. Students prepared short presentations on how to become a lawyer in their countries, after which the discussion naturally flowed into an informal exchange. Participants talked about study programs, exams, tuition costs, student life, and differences between legal education systems.

Particular interest was sparked by Ukrainian students’ stories about studying during wartime. European University student Daria Naumenko shared her experience of online learning, highlighting both its advantages and challenges. A student from the University of Glasgow, who had previously studied law in Ukraine, also contributed by comparing educational realities in both countries.
The meeting took place in a warm and supportive atmosphere and concluded with an agreement to continue the dialogue and explore new topics in future sessions.
