Європейський університет вітає українців із Днем Конституції України — святом Основного Закону нашої держави, який утверджує права, свободи, гідність людини, демократичні цінності та незалежність України.

 

Цьогоріч сучасній Конституції України виповнюється 30 років. Її було ухвалено 28 червня 1996 року, і цей день став важливою датою в історії української державності.

 

Водночас українська конституційна традиція має значно глибше коріння. Ще у 1710 році була укладена Конституція Пилипа Орлика — один із перших європейських документів, що визначав принципи організації влади, прав і свобод. У 1918 році Українська Центральна Рада ухвалила Конституцію Української Народної Республіки, яка закріплювала демократичні засади української держави. У ХХ столітті Україна також пройшла складний шлях через радянські конституції 1919, 1929, 1937 та 1978 років. Новий етап державотворення розпочався після проголошення незалежності у 1991 році, а його правовим підсумком стало ухвалення Конституції України 1996 року.

 

Конституція — це не лише правовий документ. Це основа суспільного договору, відповідальності громадян і держави, нашого спільного прагнення жити у вільній, справедливій та європейській країні.

 

Сьогодні, коли Україна захищає свою незалежність, цінність Конституції відчувається особливо глибоко. Вона нагадує нам про силу правової держави, важливість громадянської свідомості, освіти, єдності та віри в майбутнє.

 

Бажаємо кожному українцю миру, стійкості, впевненості та незламної віри в Україну.

 

Нехай права і свободи людини завжди залишаються найвищою цінністю, а наша держава міцніє, розвивається і впевнено рухається шляхом свободи, демократії та європейського майбутнього — завдяки щоденній відповідальності, праці, єдності й небайдужості її громадян. Адже сильна держава постає там, де сильним, свідомим і відповідальним є суспільство.

Happy Constitution Day of Ukraine!

 

European University congratulates Ukrainians on Constitution Day of Ukraine — the holiday of the Fundamental Law of our state, which affirms human rights, freedoms, human dignity, democratic values, and the independence of Ukraine.

 

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the modern Constitution of Ukraine. It was adopted on June 28, 1996, and this day became an important milestone in the history of Ukrainian statehood.

 

At the same time, Ukraine’s constitutional tradition has much deeper roots. As early as 1710, the Constitution of Pylyp Orlyk was concluded — one of the first European documents to define the principles of the organization of power, rights, and freedoms. In 1918, the Ukrainian Central Rada adopted the Constitution of the Ukrainian People’s Republic, which enshrined the democratic foundations of the Ukrainian state. In the 20th century, Ukraine also went through a difficult path marked by the Soviet constitutions of 1919, 1929, 1937, and 1978. A new stage of state-building began after the declaration of independence in 1991, and its legal culmination was the adoption of the Constitution of Ukraine in 1996.

 

The Constitution is not only a legal document. It is the foundation of the social contract, the responsibility of citizens and the state, and our shared aspiration to live in a free, just, and European country.

 

Today, as Ukraine defends its independence, the value of the Constitution is felt especially deeply. It reminds us of the strength of the rule of law, the importance of civic consciousness, education, unity, and faith in the future.

 

We wish every Ukrainian peace, resilience, confidence, and unbreakable faith in Ukraine.

 

May human rights and freedoms always remain the highest value, and may our state grow stronger, develop, and move confidently along the path of freedom, democracy, and a European future — through the daily responsibility, work, unity, and commitment of its citizens. After all, a strong state emerges where society is strong, conscious, and responsible.
