The Department of Economics, Finance and Accounting functions as part of the Faculty of Economics and Management of the European University.
The department’s mission is to train highly qualified specialists and creative individuals who possess fundamental theoretical knowledge and practical skills and are able to make sound economic decisions.
The educational activity of the department is related to the training of specialists, specialties 051 Economics, 071 Accounting and Taxation and 072 Finance, Banking, Insurance and the Stock Market.

An economist is a specialist who performs all calculations to optimize the company’s activities, knows all the strengths and weaknesses of the enterprise and can offer the most effective strategy for its development. He has the opportunity to work at various enterprises, in various industries, since the profession of an economist is quite universal. Financial literacy, characteristic of economists, helps to properly manage personal finances. Therefore, they can open their own business without any problems.

A financier is a specialist who understands the financial affairs of the markets, knows how to analyse and systematize information, knows all the intricacies of activities in the field of finance, credit and taxation, knows how to make forecasts, engage in investing in successful projects, predict risks. Such a specialist is in demand not only in large organizations, but also in small firms and among private entrepreneurs. It will not be difficult for a financier to develop an investment program, evaluate investment directions and use of funds. A finance specialist can work at enterprises of various forms of ownership, as well as at stock exchanges. Both large international organizations and small firms need the services of such specialists. In addition, this profession is always at the top of the salary ratings of all countries of the world.

071 Accounting and Taxation
An accountant is a specialist who is capable of activities in various areas (economy, finance, taxation, etc.). He deals not only with keeping accounts, but also carries out a wide range of activities, including planning and decision-making, control over compliance with payment and tax discipline at the enterprise, assessment and analysis of economic and financial activities. Graduates on Accounting and Taxation have wide opportunities for employment in institutions, enterprises and organizations of various forms of ownership, in banking institutions and public services.

During the entire period of the University’s operation, graduates of these specialties are in high demand among employers. And this is not surprising, because the European University is a centre for the development of modern economic education and the formation of the country’s economic elite.

Educational and methodological support of the educational process is presented for each discipline in the form of work programs, programs of all types of practices, a sufficient fund of textbooks and training aids. Active and interactive learning methods are used during classes, which promotes the development of critical thinking, independent decision-making in a specific situation, develops analytical and communicative abilities of students, and helps them to develop 21st century competencies.
The collection of scientific works on Economics and Management is published at the European University included in the list of professional publications of Ukraine. The magazine is intended for researchers, teachers, graduate students, students of higher education institutions, employees of authorities and state institutions, banks, and enterprises.
With the aim of forming and activating the scientific and professional interests of students, the Department of Economics, Finance and Accounting operates student competence improvement centres:

Vyacheslav Kredisov is a Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, Honored Economist of Ukraine. Member of Public Boards of the State Committee of Ukraine on Regulatory Policy and Entrepreneurship. The author of more than 100 scientific works.
Scientific interests: development of entrepreneurship in Ukraine, competitiveness, innovative activity.
Iryna Kreydych is Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor. Since 2017, national expert of the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation (Eurocontrol), Brussels, Belgium. The author of more than 110 scientific and educational and methodological works, including 7 publications in scientific publications, the scientometric databases Scopus/Web of Science.
Research interests: economics, state finance, enterprise finance, innovation and investment policy, paradigm of sustainable economic development, digital transformation of business, project management and business analytics.
